What Is Securly?

Securly is a cloud-based internet content filtering system designed primarily for K-12 schools, but it can also be used for other purposes. It helps schools ensure that their end users are safe and responsible when using digital devices by filtering internet content.

How does Securly work? (In a Nutshell...) 

Web Filtering

Securly filters internet content using a cloud-based system. When a student tries to visit a website:

1. The request is routed through Securly's servers.
2. Securly checks if the site/search is safe based on various categories, including adult content, violence, gaming, and social media.
3. Securly also distinguishes access based on users' credentials (staff, Upper School Student, Middle School Student, etc) 
4. If it’s blocked, the user sees a “This site is blocked” message.
5. If it’s allowed, they can access the site normally.
6. It works on both school-owned and personal devices.
